Cafe & Community

Being located at the heart of Newborough village, we have always tried to support and become an active part of the community.

For the last few years it has been our pleasure to entertain some of the older local people, with our Christmas Eve 'Scouse on the House'. They have been lovely get togethers, especially for those living alone. Seniors have enjoyed our home-made scouse, desert, a panad (cuppa), a chat and a laugh. Due to the pandemic we were closed Christmas 2020..but delivered 'Scouse to Your House' in a special 'Christmas Pudding' van. Hopefully Christmas 2021 will see us hosting this back in the cafe?!

During the 2020 lockdown we were proud to offer the cafe as a delivery/collection hub for the local 'Newborough Helpers' group of volunteers to organise and distribute fresh produce in the area.

We support local charities such as Hosbis Dewi Sant, as well as The British Legion, The Red Squirrel Trust, Help The Heroes & Marie Curie. The cafe provided the location for 'drop-in' sessions held by Age Cymru

The cafe took a leading part in community projects such as working with local primary school children during the installation of the village planters.

We monitor and maintain the defibrillator which is housed on the exterior of the cafe.

Summer 2023 - we have supported fundraising for Parc y Plant, the local children's park

Some of our young staff took part in 'Relay for Life' - a 24 hour relay for Cancer Research

Our involvement in the community will continue...
